My ONE Thing that I wanted to achieve this week was to organize my pantry. I thought it seemed like a reasonable goal to achieve. But I realized when I looked at my weekly calendar, there was only one window of time to do it if I wanted to achieve it before my Follow-Up Friday post. With that accountability in mind, I had to get it done in that one time window. Still, I got side-tracked on another project and started the pantry later than I planned. And it took longer than I thought it would. So I was working into the night to get it done - undermining my ONE Thing from last week, which was to go to bed early.
So I feel great that I achieved my ONE Thing! And I have a clearer awareness about patterns that I have around time management. I know I will deliver on my promises, but when I don't plan my time well, I often do it at my own personal expense. I think I can approach achieving my goals in a better way, so that I can achieve what I want, without compromising myself. I can do it by setting more realistic goals based on other factors in my life. And I can set a schedule and stick to it.
In terms of the Pantry Project, I also have an awareness that shopping at Costco can lead to an overabundance of food in my pantry. I will be saving a lot of money on groceries this month because I think I can easily live off my supplies for that long.
I'd love to hear how your ONE Thing went this week! Whether you accomplished what you set out to do or not, there is an opportunity to gain insight about yourself and your patterns.
Pantry looks great! Projects like that always take longer than you think they will. It’s amazing how items get “lost” in the back of a cupboard. Did you have feelings of guilt having to get rid of things you bought and never used? I do but it makes me try to do better. Looking forward to next weeks challenge.
